INTROVERT OR EXTROVERT? WHO SHOULD BE OUR LEADER?
· As the world approaches to an era of
derision, certain need expanse the land of people; the need of a leader that
can put an end to the dismayed minds of people. But the question that arises
is,
“Should our leader be an introvert or an
extrovert?”
When it comes to introverts being our
leaders, there is a common pattern in history. Einstein, Bill Gates, Mark
Zuckerberg, Abraham Lincoln were
all introverts and there is no need to mention the perks of their alpha
abilities. We have also experienced some great extroverts as our leaders, but
according to the stats of progress, introverts make better leaders.
A leader should be a good listener.
Introverts are proven to be non social and mostly quiet but they have proven to
be better listeners than extroverts. Psychologist Laurie Helgoe states in Introvert Power: Why Your Inner Life Is Your
Hidden Strength,
"An
introvert who sits back in a meeting, taking on the arguments, dreamily
reflecting on the bigger picture, may be seen as not contributing—that is,
until he works out the solution that all the contributors missed."
Sometimes feeling ecstasy in your own silence can show you the right path.
A leader should not wear their heart
on their sleeve. Introverts are reserve while extroverts tend to be too open
with others which makes them an easy target. A leader should be open to
suggestions, but others' opinions should not get to him and affect his judgment
easily as that shoes weakness of character
In gatherings, a leader should be
reserved. A leader should have a professional attitude. Apparently introverts
prove to be more professional than extroverts. As Cain says,
"introverts prefer
to connect one-on-one and around an issue they find important while an
extrovert might attend an event and end up chatting with everyone."
