What Should I Study In College?
The most hatred I feel is towards making a life changing
decision all by myself. My dad leaves it all on me. Which is good since it is
my life, but at the end it sort of sucks because I have no one else to blame
for the damage. I am the kind of person who will always regret for not choosing the other option. It sucks more than old socks stink.
Choosing a career is difficult. You have to be aware of a
number of things about yourself. You have to stay alone for a while and focus
on your own likes, dislikes, and interests. In short, date your own self for a
week. Forget about the world, it'll be here when you have made a decision.
1) Job interests:
Let's face it. The only reason you are studying is to find a good job. There is no way you are studying to gain knowledge. Think of the
kind of job you are going be most happy doing. What interests you more than
spending quality time with your loved ones. The answer to that question will be
your first step towards your career. Think carefully to spend your days in office happily.
2) Subject Interest:
I know you want to earn a lot and accomplish all your goals
after becoming a millionaire, but here's the thing. You have to pass a couple
of subjects before you can actually make your way towards your goals. You have
to spend a good amount of time in an institute and learn a couple of things.
Your grades should be your number one priority in the next few years of your
life. Let's be clear, none of us are going to pass if we have no interest in
the subject we are being taught. We might be someone like the guy below in every class. So choose what you love to study and you have
taken your 2nd step towards your goals.
3) Institute Interests:
You are surrounded by
different kinds of institutes everywhere you live. Each institute has a
different system. Discover yourself and your interests other than studies. The
percentage of your sportiness, foodies and interest in extra curricular
activities will help you determine the
institute you most want to go to. The subjects and job interests have to
contradict with your other interests. Otherwise, it will just be a waste of
time in the university life of yours. Think of an institute that encourages you to wake up early in the morning.
4) Forget about Your Friends;
The biggest mistake you make while choosing your career is
tagging your friends along the way. You have to remember that you are on your
own when it comes to being successful. Nobody is going to help you in your
career. Nobody is going to be there to sacrifice their own interests to help
you reach the top. Everyone is going to go on their own paths. Your paths may
be the same, but at the end of the time, it doesn't take long for a person's
fate to take him or her away from you. So make sure you are following your path
without caring about other's paths.
5) Make the decision:
Once you have decided which field suits you the most, go
ahead and make a decision. Let the world know what you are planning on becoming
in the future. How you are going to change the world through your skills and
tricks. However, make sure you stick to your decision. Don't ever let anybody's
opinion or suggestion make you regret your decision. Be what you want to be and
work hard for the decision you have made. There will be hundred hands trying to
knock you down, focus on the light of positivity inside you. The light that
encouraged you to choose the field you chose in the first place. Work hard for
the field and make sure you don't get it twisted because of the negativity
around you.
Best of luck for your career choosing. I hope my steps
helped you choose the kind of field that
best fits you. let me know if i missed any useful step in the comments below.
